Privacy Policy.
This policy explains what information we handle when you use Genr8, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It applies to both fashion brands (“merchants”) who use our service and to shoppers whose photos are processed by our widget on a merchant’s store.
Genr8 is operated as a sole proprietorship in Cairo, Egypt. You can reach us at support@genr8.studio. For data-protection matters, the same contact also serves as our data protection contact under Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law.
This policy covers two groups of users. The first is merchants who sign up for, evaluate, or use our service. The second is shoppers whose photos are submitted to the widget on a merchant’s store to generate body measurements or virtual try-on images.
For shopper photographs and the data submitted alongside them, we generally act as a processor on behalf of the merchant, who is the controller of their customers’ data. For the merchant relationship itself, and for the technical logs we keep to run and secure the service, we act as a controller.
We try to handle as little data as we reasonably can. The categories below are described broadly so they remain accurate as the product evolves.
- Contact and account information. Information you provide when you reach out to us, sign up, onboard, or correspond with us — such as your name, email address, contact number, and the store you operate.
- Photographs and self-reported details. Images shoppers submit through the widget, together with any details they enter themselves (for example, height or stated gender), used to generate the requested measurement or try-on output.
- Technical and usage information. Information generated automatically when the service is used, such as IP address, request metadata, timestamps, and success or error events. We use this to operate the service, meter usage, and prevent abuse.
We use the information above to deliver and improve the service, generate the measurements and try-on images that have been requested, communicate with merchants, prevent abuse and fraud, keep our records, and comply with our legal obligations. Images are never stored, and are only used for processing.
Our service may use third-party AI providers. This includes Google’s Gemini; the specific provider may change as the technology evolves. Photographs and the metadata needed to process them are sent to the provider for the sole purpose of generating the requested output.
We do not use shopper photographs to identify individuals, build biometric profiles, or train AI models. Photographs are processed in memory for the duration of a request and are not retained on our infrastructure once the response has been returned.
We share information with a small number of categories of recipients: AI providers that power the measurement and try-on features, infrastructure and hosting providers that store the records we need to keep, professional advisors where reasonably necessary, and authorities where we are required to do so by law. We do not sell personal data.
Some of our providers process data outside Egypt, the EU, and the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement) and the providers’ own certifications.
For shoppers in the EU or UK, we rely on the following bases. Consent for the processing of photographs and the data submitted with them; this consent is collected at the point of upload and can be withdrawn at any time. Performance of a contract for the information we process to deliver the service to merchants. Legitimate interests for security, fraud prevention, and metering of usage, balanced against your rights and freedoms.
We keep information no longer than we reasonably need. Shopper photographs are not retained beyond the lifetime of the request that processes them. Technical and account records are kept for as long as needed to run, secure, and audit the service, and to meet our legal and tax obligations. When a record is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
Depending on where you are based and the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object to our use of your information, and to withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@genr8.studio. If you are a shopper using a merchant’s store, you can also contact that merchant directly.
Our marketing site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies. These fall into broad categories: those that are strictly necessary for the site to work, those that help us understand how the site is used, and those used for marketing measurement. Where required, we ask for consent before setting non-essential cookies.
Our service is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Merchants are responsible for ensuring that their own audiences meet any applicable age requirements.
We protect data in transit with TLS, restrict access to systems on a need-to-know basis, and avoid storing shopper imagery at rest. No system can be made entirely secure, but we do our best to use sensible, current practices.
We may update this policy from time to time as the service changes. The date at the top reflects the most recent update. If the changes are material, we will give notice through the service or by email to merchants.
